I have been using Omnifocus since sometime when it was still in its testing phase. Fortunately, I run a one-platform business and home computing system. So, I don't need a solution that can work for PCs or Macs. Nonetheless I have been impressed with how easy on the focus is to use, and how extensible it is for people with different working styles. As evidence of that, when I purchased a family pack license, I gave my assistant and my partner each a license to use on the focus, and they use it in totally different ways. Notwithstanding the difference in their approach to using the program, each finds it an extremely valuable productivity tool. I am totally waiting with bated breath for the native iPhone at that they are developing. I would have settled for a program that needed to be synced from a wired connection, but if they're going for something that sings to .Mac that's even better.

My problem with the native apps is that I need to run my GTD on Windows at work, my iMac at home and my iPhone on the run. I've only found one application that will do all that in a simple way. And I too have been emailing tasks to my GTD, but now have found that I can send a voice message using Jott and don't even have to type the task, a great time saver when I'm on the run with my iPhone. I wrote about my recent experiences with GTD at http://johnkendrick.wordpress.com
