Motivational Songs – Spotify Playlist

Motivational Songs
I have been using Spotify for the last couple of weeks and I am very impressed with the service it offers. I have created a playlist of 20 Motivational Songs for you to listen to for free

I received the free invite from Kieron Donoghue who has incidentally just published a great blog post titled Ten Reasons why Spotify Rocks. Read this blog post as a great intro to Spotify.

So, what is Spotify?

Spotify is a new way to enjoy music. Simply download and install, before you know it you’ll be singing along to the genre, artist or song of your choice. With Spotify you are never far away from the song you want.

There are no restrictions in terms of what you can listen to or when. Forget about the hassle of waiting for files to download and fill up your hard drive before you get round to organising them. Spotify is instant, fun and simple.

One of the cool things you can do with Spotify is to create and share playlists. So, in the spirit of my site I have put together a playlist of 20 Motivational Songs for you to listen to, free of charge courtest of Spotify.

To use this list you need Spotify installed on your Mac or PC. Then, simply follow this link to listen to my 20 Motivational Songs. Cool!

Good news, I have ten Spotify invites to give out to readers of this blog. To get one, sign up to my newsletter (so I have your email address) and leave a comment here. The next ten people will get a free invite to what is the hottest free music system on the Internet right now!

So, here are my songs in no particular order!

  • Life – Haddaway
  • I Feel Good – James Brown
  • I’ve Got the Power – Snap!
  • Survivor – Desiny’s Child
  • The Final Countdown – Europe
  • What a Feeling – Irene Cara
  • Circle of Life – Elton John
  • Tubthumping – Chumbawamba
  • Lose Yourself – Eminem
  • Born to Be Wild – Steppenwolf
  • Total Eclipse of the Heart – Bonnie Tyler
  • You Raise Me Up – Josh Groban
  • Eye of the Tiger – Survivor
  • The Best – Tina Turner
  • Mony Mony – Billy Idol
  • Jump – Van Halen
  • Unbelievable – EMF
  • Killer – SEAL
  • My Heart Will Go On – Celine Dion
  • Everybody Hurts – R.E.M.

I am not sure what regions Spotify currently works in but it does work in the UK for a change!

    Thanks for the mention mate. One question, isn’t “Everybody Hurts” one of the saddest songs ever?? Not sure how it motivates!

    I love Spotify, I think the shared playlists idea is genious, especially the ability to let people contribute to playlists.

    You have some of my favourite tracks on that list.

    I did my own list of motivational songs but chose Youtube and a lot of them have already been taken down: so now I have a spotify list where I drag the tracks I am really loving at the moment: spotify:user:arickmann:playlist:0W1rHkJPduL7A3PcBLqyO5

    Hi Andrew,

    Thanks for the comment. These playlists are what will make Spotify in my opinion. The ability to share these is awesome!

    Just tried to add your playlist – spotify:user:arickmann:playlist:0W1rHkJPduL7A3PcBLqyO5 and it is telling me playlist not found?

  4. Andrew said on January 20th, 2009 at 10:13 pm

    @Andrew Mason:

    Or would be awesome if it worked :-) It seems to work OK for me. Perhaps the http link would work better?

    Spotify tells me it’s not available here in Canada, sadly… I shall just watch from the sidelines, playing the motivational tunes in my imagination.

    I’d love to have a spotify invite! Thank you.

    Makes a change that we get something in the UK. Fingers crossed you can access it soon as it is very good.

    Thanks for the comment.

    I would love an invite! I’m fairy sure it works here in Sweden. Tubthumping by Chumbawamba is one of my favourite songs. Another good one is Maria by Blondie.

  9. Andrew Mason said on January 21st, 2009 at 8:19 am

    That worked.

    Sound like a great service but unfortunatelly, like as with so many, Spotify is no available in Europe or at least not in Switzerland. :-(

    But thx you anyway. Have a geat week over there.

    Does this integrate with Last.Fm or iTunes?

  12. KC said on January 21st, 2009 at 1:21 pm

    Great site, one of my must reads everyday. I am amazed at how much motivation can be found in song/listening to music. If you have any invites left I would greatly appreciate one. Hopefully more playlists can be shared as well.

    @John Haydon:

    Not as yet but fingers crossed that it does as that will be cool.

    Thanks for the comment.

    @Peter Monbailleu:

    It is a lot more than just a radio. It is like iTunes where you can play all the songs for free!

    @Mike Bite:

    Hi Mike, sorry to hear it does not work in Switzerland. I am based in England and it works fine here. I agree though that most things don’t work in Europe that is why I am happy this one does.

    Thanks for the comment.

    Great Play List – I’m looking into Spotify for myself. Thanks for the tip and the music. Check out my latest playlist – Inspirational Songs.

    Nice list Andrew – thank for the share.

    “Life – Haddaway” is an “Anchor” Tony Robbins leaves in all his UPW (Unleash The Power Within) students. Check out the video I have here of this song played at Tony Robbin’s UPW with everyone jumping around and you will see the power in this song :-)
