Productivity, Motivation, and Personal Development Links – 30th August 2009

This is another post brought to you thanks to the schedule facility in WordPress as I am currently in Swaledale, Yorkshire Dales and I imagine I have no Internet access whatsoever due to the remote location I am staying in.

Here are my collection of links for this week.

Wishing you all a very productive week ahead!

Productivity, Motivation, and Personal Development Links – 23rd August 2009

First week back and my feet have hardly touched the ground!

Spent a few days trawling through my emails and allocating these to where they should be. I collected over 100 tasks whilst away on OmniFocus for iPhone so these all needed sorting. In fact, Tuesday/Wednesday of this week turned into a great two day review of my current tasks and projects. A mammoth weekly review!

Looking forward to another great week. I am away Thursday to Tuesday in Reeth, Swaledale for another break, looking forward to it already!

Here are my collection of links for this week.

  • My first link for this week is a great post from Web Worker Daily titled Postponed: Procrastination. Procrastination is productivity’s biggest enemy! and one which we all face. It is so easy to put things off and drift in the ether rather than focus and do. Great tips from a great blog.
  • My second link is a link to txtGTD, a text based GTD system. This is a cool little script written in AutoHotKey for Windows or Perl for WIndows, Linux, and Mac. I have just found this myself and I am looking at the Perl version as it looks quirky and cool. Check it out and let me know your thoughts on it.
  • My third link is a link to a post titled How To Get More Done As A Freelance Web Designer. Although this is aimed at Web Designers, there are some great generic tips from Lee Munroe, the author of this blog.
  • My fourth link is another Gmail GTD tip titled GTD Action Lists and Gmail Labels from the pennies in a jar blog. Again, I do not use Gmail but I know a lot of people do so be sure to check out this cool little post about GTD using Gmail.
  • My fifth and last link is a link to a review of the Things GTD iPhone application. Nice little review of a great app that I am sure I would use if I was not hooked on OmniFocus!

Wishing you all a very productive week ahead!

Productivity, Motivation, and Personal Development Links – 16th August 2009

Well, I am now home after an amazing holiday in Italy.

We stayed for two weeks at Union Lido in Cavallino, around 10 miles east of Venice in Northern Italy.

I have only been back a couple of hours So I will be brief as food calls and so does a nice bed!

Here are my collection of links for this week.

Loads of thoughts collected whilst away so I will be back soon!

Also, be sure to follow me on Twitter as I post great Productivity and Motivational links on a daily basis!

Productivity, Motivation, and Personal Development Links – 9th August 2009

I have now been on holiday for a week and this is a scheduled post that will hopefully go out on Sunday the 9th of August.

I am sure I am having a great time as I always do and I am also sure that my mind has been working overtime in creative mode and I have managed to record some great ideas to implement on my return.

Here are my collection of links for this week.

  • My first link for this week is a link to 10 Tips for Getting it Done Today from the PyschCentral Blog. Great list of tips that I use and endorse as a tips for getting things done.
  • My second link is a link to a Tumblr blog called Minimal Mac. This blog is the work of Patrick Rhone and is a great showcase of some awesome minimal work setups featuring Apple Mac’s. I get some great links from Patrick so be sure to follow him on Twitter.
  • My third link is a link to a blog post from WebWorkerDaily titled Singletasking Tip: Go Off Grid. Single tasking is exactly what it states it is, working on a single task rather than the often over hyped multi tasking. Interesting read.
  • My fourth link is a link to link to a blog post from the Uncluttered blog about the power of doing it now. I cannot agree with this more that there will never be a better time to start than now. Even if you feel like you are missing some direction, make a start and it is amazing how forward motion helps one to find the correct path!
  • My fifth and last link is a link to a post from ZenHabits about Killing Email. This post is written by Leo, the creator of Zen Habits and it covers how Leo has ditched email and how he has managed to do this. Great idea in theory but one that I would not necessarily want to do as I do believe there are some great benefits to email, when email is used int he correct manner.

Seems strange writing this nearly two week before it is being published so I will sign off here in my usual way and wish you all a productive week!

Robert Scoble, Michael Deutch, and Mind Mapping

What a great combination to get together and make a video!

Robert Scoble (scobleizer) is one of the best tech bloggers and tech evangelists, Michael Deutch is a Mind Mapping Evangelist for MindJet, the creators of MindManager.

I love Mind Mapping and I map every day!

Here is an awesome 27 minute video where Robert and Michael discuss Mind Mapping and the MindManager product.

I hope you agree with me that this is an awesome video, thanks Robert and Michael!

Productivity, Motivation, and Personal Development Links – 2nd August 2009

By now I will be in Italy drinking a cold Peroni watching an amazing sunset with my family on a well deserved holiday!

I had another busy week leading up to this break and I have managed to write these posts before I went away and they will be scheduled as usual on Sunday’s so as to not break my current 100% record of weekly productivity links.

Here are my collection of links for this week.

I hope you all have a great week, I know I will!
