Productivity, Motivation, and Personal Development Links – 5th June 2011

Well, I have been super busy and super productive so trying my best to share some of the great links I have been collecting over the past few weeks.

It seems like every week a new GTD or Productivity app is coming out either Web based, Client based or Mobile App based. Truly exciting times.

Here are my collection of links for this week.

Hope you all have a great week ahead!

Productivity, Motivation, and Personal Development Links – 27th March 2011

I have had a little break from this blog as I have been very busy getting things done but I am back with my usual weekly collection of links. Quite a lot has happened over the past month and I have completed two exams since my last writing so I have been busy studying and prepping for these.

Here are my collection of links for this week.

  • My first link for this week is called How to Delegate a Task in OmniFocus with Sparrow. I have been using Sparrow since it went live and must admit that it has pulled me away from Mail.app. This Apple Script is the first bit of customisation for Sparrow that makes it fit more into a GTD system. Hopefully more of these will come to make the GTD process even more streamlined.
  • My second link is to a great review of the Sparrow Mac Email client. I have a lot to write about Sparrow as I have recently switched from my beloved Mail.app to Sparrow for my email and I must admit that I am loving it!
  • My third link is to a great leadership post from Fast Company called How Do You Measure Up as a Leader? Very good post from Fast Company that is well worth a read if you have to lead people.
  • My fourth link is a link to a great How to Get Things Done with GMail post from scribd.com. I do not use the GMail web interface although I do use Gmail but this is still worth a read.
  • My fifth and last link is to an excllent review of OmniFocus and other GTD apps in a post called A Sledgehammer Called OmniFocus from Shawn Blanc.
  • This is an excellent and in-dpeth review of OmniFocus and really does provide some real pros and cons as to using a powerhouse application such as OmniFocus as part of your GTD system.

Hope you all have a great week ahead!

Productivity, Motivation, and Personal Development Links – 13th February 2011

I hope you are all ready for Valentines tomorrow? It is my wife’s birthday so we get to celebrate two things, and I do not have any excuses to miss either!

Here are my collection of links for this week.

  • My first link for this week is to a great Getting Things Done post titled The Solo Attorney’s Introduction to Getting Things Done. I do like these introductory posts to the GTD methodology and always enjoy hearing how other people are Getting Things Done.
  • My second link is to a great post from my wife titled Cherish the Moment. Now this is not truly productivity related but it is a post that teaches us the important of living where you are right now. Do not get caught up in the journey but stop and enjoy yourself where you are, right now.
  • My third link is to a post from the whole self blog called decluttering, it’s the way forward. I must admit that my wife is a master at de-cluttering and I have learned to harness the power of de-cluttering from her.
  • My fourth link is a link to a video comparison of Microsoft OneNote and Evernote. Being a Mac user, I have never used Microsoft OneNote but I do know that Evernote does everything I need it to do!
  • My fifth and last link is to a shortlist of OSX Time & Project Management Apps. Being a Mac user I found this a great list of apps I might not have known about.

Hope you all have a great week ahead!

Productivity, Motivation, and Personal Development Links – 30th January 2011

Very productive week for me and looking forward some new challenges in the coming week.

Trying to get some more posts done in between my regular weekly links but I have a lot on at the moment so the blog post ideas are stacking up.

Here are my collection of links for this week.

Hope you all have a great week ahead!

Productivity, Motivation, and Personal Development Links – 23rd January 2011

Here are my collection of links for this week.

Hope you all have a great week ahead!

Productivity, Motivation, and Personal Development Links – 16th January 2011

Hope you all have a great week ahead!

Productivity, Motivation, and Personal Development Links – 2nd January 2011

Wishing all my readers a Happy New Year

Well, can you believe Christmas and the New Year have been and gone! You seem to spend a long time planning Christmas and then you blink and it is over.

I hope you all had great productive holidays and are feeling great and ready for the New Year.

Here are my collection of links for this week.

  • My first link for this week is to another great GTD and SpringPad post. This post was written after seeing the post I wrote about last time. I still have not fully examined SpringPad but it is on my list to look at as soon as I can in the New year.
  • My second link is to a great post from the Google SEO Master, Matt Cutts about How to Start the New Year with a Blank Inbox. This is aimed towards GMail users but it is still a great blog post from Matt Cutts.
  • My third link is to a post about Getting Things Done from the Brain of Shawn blog. Great to read the way the author is motivated into Getting Things Done in his own way.
  • My fourth link is a link to a question that was posed on LifeHacker called How Do You Get Things Done on an Airplane?. Now the juicy content is in the comments rather than the post which just serves as a question. Some great ideas of how people utilize this otherwise wasted time.
  • My fifth and last link is to a post from Gordo Byrn about Applying Your Personal Plan. This is an interesting and intelligent post that is well worth the time investment.

Hope you all have a great week ahead!

Productivity, Motivation, and Personal Development Links – 19th December 2010

This is the last weekly post before Christmas! Cannot believe it has come around so quick.

Nearly got all my shopping done. Just a few last minute gifts to get tomorrow from the shops so lets see what happens!

Here are my collection of links for this week.

  • My first link for this week is to a great post from Dan Gold about how he uses Springpad and Evernote to Get Things Done. I love Evernote and I have SpringPad but must admit I need to use it more and I just might after seeing this post!
  • My second link is to a great post from the Evernote Blog about Making the transition from Delicious to Evernote. Yahoo announced they may be closing the door on Delicious so now is the time to start migrating your bookmarks away. This post shows you how you can achieve this with Evernote.
  • My third link is to a post about how to turn email into OmniFocus actions. This is from the official OmniFocus forums and covers a recent release of OmniFocus.
  • My fourth link is a link to a great collection of the Top 5 OmniFocus Applescripts. If you use OmniFocus as I do, then these are a must so check the post out.
  • My fifth and last link is to a nice little post about Blending Pomodoro and GTD. Nice little post that looks at how you can take the best parts of each methodology to blend them together into something cool.

Hope you all have a great week ahead!

Productivity, Motivation, and Personal Development Links – 12th December 2010

I said I would continue with these posts and I am back. I managed to break the bad habit of not posting these regular links.

I have been collecting some great links this week from my usual sources.

For those of you not doing, be sure to Follow me on Twitter and add me as a friend on Facebook. You can also follow my Wife on Twitter and be her Facebook friend too to keep up with my blog and also my Wife’s blog about parenting and lifestyle.

Here are my collection of links for this week.

  • My first link for this week is to a great post titled Positive Procrastination: Getting Stuff Done, Intuitively from the Owning Pink blog. This is a great post that is very well written and provides some great ideas.
  • My second link is to a nice little post titled Celebrate the little successes. This post looks at setting ourselves smaller goals and celebrating these in order to put yourself into the achieving mindset for the larger goals.
  • My third link is to a post from Mashable about How Evernote Turned Note Taking Into a $10 Million Business. This has been a very well read and re-tweeted article this week that coincided with Evernote CEO, Phil Libin doing a presentation at LeWeb in Paris.
  • My fourth link is a link to a great AppleScript that enables you to Create OmniFocus tasks in Entourage. I personally prefer Mail.app but I know a lot of people use Microsoft Entourage so this is worth checking out.
  • My fifth and last link is to a nice little post from GTD Times titled Getting Things Done in the Shower. Neat little idea to use a Scuba diving waterproof slate in the shower to capture your thoughts if you are the type of person who thinks their best thoughts whilst showering.

Hope you all have a great week ahead!
