I have been using The Sparrow Mail App for quite a while now and it has taken me away from the inbuilt Mail.app. I will be covering some cool workflow and integration I have done with Sparrow in the coming months but for now, check out the intro video.

Productivity, Motivation, and Personal Development Links – 27th March 2011
I have had a little break from this blog as I have been very busy getting things done but I am back with my usual weekly collection of links. Quite a lot has happened over the past month and I have completed two exams since my last writing so I have been busy studying and prepping for these.
Here are my collection of links for this week.
- My first link for this week is called How to Delegate a Task in OmniFocus with Sparrow. I have been using Sparrow since it went live and must admit that it has pulled me away from Mail.app. This Apple Script is the first bit of customisation for Sparrow that makes it fit more into a GTD system. Hopefully more of these will come to make the GTD process even more streamlined.
- My second link is to a great review of the Sparrow Mac Email client. I have a lot to write about Sparrow as I have recently switched from my beloved Mail.app to Sparrow for my email and I must admit that I am loving it!
- My third link is to a great leadership post from Fast Company called How Do You Measure Up as a Leader? Very good post from Fast Company that is well worth a read if you have to lead people.
- My fourth link is a link to a great How to Get Things Done with GMail post from scribd.com. I do not use the GMail web interface although I do use Gmail but this is still worth a read.
- My fifth and last link is to an excllent review of OmniFocus and other GTD apps in a post called A Sledgehammer Called OmniFocus from Shawn Blanc.
This is an excellent and in-dpeth review of OmniFocus and really does provide some real pros and cons as to using a powerhouse application such as OmniFocus as part of your GTD system.
Hope you all have a great week ahead!
Productivity, Motivation, and Personal Development Links – 23rd January 2011
Another week is over and the start of another week is soon to begin. Last week was a busy week for me and I got through it all unscathed.
Here are my collection of links for this week.
- My first link for this week is to a rather cool looking Gmail Mac email client called Sparrow. I have just rebuilt my main Mac to incorporate an SSD and I am looking to move away from Mail.app as it was hogging my system so the timing of this is perfect for me. If you use Gmail and a Mac be sure to give this a try.
- My second link is to a great post titled Motivated People Make Things Happen While Everyone Else Is Watching. How true is this! and the title of this post is just as good as the content found within.
- My third link is to a great review of the OmniFocus GTD App from Appstorm.net.
- My fourth link is a link to a review of Wunderlist: Free and Easy Task Management. This is cool looking and new GTD app doing the rounds.
- My fifth and last link is to a post is a great post from Lifehacker titled Set Aside a Mind Sweep Day When Work Piles Up. Good advice from the great Lifehacker blog.
Hope you all have a great week ahead!
Productivity, Motivation, and Personal Development Links – 2nd January 2011
Wishing all my readers a Happy New Year
Well, can you believe Christmas and the New Year have been and gone! You seem to spend a long time planning Christmas and then you blink and it is over.
I hope you all had great productive holidays and are feeling great and ready for the New Year.
Here are my collection of links for this week.
- My first link for this week is to another great GTD and SpringPad post. This post was written after seeing the post I wrote about last time. I still have not fully examined SpringPad but it is on my list to look at as soon as I can in the New year.
- My second link is to a great post from the Google SEO Master, Matt Cutts about How to Start the New Year with a Blank Inbox. This is aimed towards GMail users but it is still a great blog post from Matt Cutts.
- My third link is to a post about Getting Things Done from the Brain of Shawn blog. Great to read the way the author is motivated into Getting Things Done in his own way.
- My fourth link is a link to a question that was posed on LifeHacker called How Do You Get Things Done on an Airplane?. Now the juicy content is in the comments rather than the post which just serves as a question. Some great ideas of how people utilize this otherwise wasted time.
- My fifth and last link is to a post from Gordo Byrn about Applying Your Personal Plan. This is an interesting and intelligent post that is well worth the time investment.
Hope you all have a great week ahead!

Productivity, Motivation, and Personal Development Links – 30th May 2010
Just returned from a great family holiday in Northumberland. Stayed in Beadnell for the fifth year and as usual, had a great time.

Hope you all have a great week ahead!
Productivity, Motivation, and Personal Development Links – 9th May 2010
I missed my post last week as I had been away all week at InfoSec and they we went away for the bank holiday weekend to the Yorkshire Dales.
We stayed in a great cottage which unfortunately had no Internet or mobile phone coverage so I could not get any type of a connection to release my usual Sunday post.
I have had another busy week this week and next week seems just as bad!
Good news is that I can officially order my UK iPad tomorrow, at last!
Here are my collection of links for this week.
- My first link for this week is to an article from Brent Ozar titled How I Use GTD 50,000 Foot Goals. This is a great read that explains how the author uses those 50,000 foot goals to help him achieve the big picture in what he wants out of life.

Productivity, Motivation, and Personal Development Links – 22nd November 2009
Well, quite a bad week for me in that I was ill most of the week with a seasonal flu like bug and my productivity was rock bottom.
It is amazing how an illness knocks you for six and comes from left field to totally disrupt your plans. Mind you, after an illness I feel really energized and eager to get back to it all!
Here are my collection of links for this week.
- My first link for this week is a great slide based presentation titled Getting Things Done with Social Media. This provides a GTD approach on how people can bolster their online presence.

Productivity, Motivation, and Personal Development Links – 23rd August 2009
First week back and my feet have hardly touched the ground!
Spent a few days trawling through my emails and allocating these to where they should be. I collected over 100 tasks whilst away on OmniFocus for iPhone so these all needed sorting. In fact, Tuesday/Wednesday of this week turned into a great two day review of my current tasks and projects. A mammoth weekly review!
Looking forward to another great week. I am away Thursday to Tuesday in Reeth, Swaledale for another break, looking forward to it already!
Here are my collection of links for this week.
- My first link for this week is a great post from Web Worker Daily titled Postponed: Procrastination. Procrastination is productivity’s biggest enemy! and one which we all face. It is so easy to put things off and drift in the ether rather than focus and do. Great tips from a great blog.
- My second link is a link to txtGTD, a text based GTD system. This is a cool little script written in AutoHotKey for Windows or Perl for WIndows, Linux, and Mac. I have just found this myself and I am looking at the Perl version as it looks quirky and cool. Check it out and let me know your thoughts on it.
- My third link is a link to a post titled How To Get More Done As A Freelance Web Designer. Although this is aimed at Web Designers, there are some great generic tips from Lee Munroe, the author of this blog.
- My fourth link is another Gmail GTD tip titled GTD Action Lists and Gmail Labels from the pennies in a jar blog. Again, I do not use Gmail but I know a lot of people do so be sure to check out this cool little post about GTD using Gmail.
- My fifth and last link is a link to a review of the Things GTD iPhone application. Nice little review of a great app that I am sure I would use if I was not hooked on OmniFocus!
Wishing you all a very productive week ahead!
